I used to have the relatively thankless job of web and app development. Now I get to get out from in front of the computer, meet awesome people, and see their smile as I capture the best photo they've ever had of themselves.
I was born and raised in Spicer, MN. My wife is also from the area, but the water she drank growing up must have been a lot better than mine as she’s super gorgeous. She assists me at weddings when she can, and is my second shooter. Her day job is being a financial analyst, which I don’t understand in the slightest. We’ve got a dog named Cinder; we got her from the shelter. She was found in the dead of winter in the middle of nowhere when she was still a puppy. Timid at first, she now lives out her days killing snakes in the summer and watching me work while parked in front of a space heater in the winter.
I've learned from some of the best photographers in the world, I never skimp on equipment and software, and I'm practically a Photoshop wizard.
For large events such as weddings, getting along with your photographer can take a lot of stress out of the day – well, as much as possible, anyways! Here are some random tidbits about me as a gauge of my personality:
My favorite movies and TV shows all have the word “Star” in them. Stargate, Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica. I’m a geek, in case that wasn’t obvious by my choices in profession.
I play piano, guitar, and saxophone. None of them well.
I’m a dog person. Being as I often work from home, I also talk to my dog way too much to be healthy.
I have an app on the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS that did quite well, and is still big in Japan.
The CIA tried to recruit me out of high school.
My own car once ran me over when I was washing it to sell it. I like to think it had a grudge.
Pizza is one of my favorite foods. Alas, I am lactose intolerant. What cruel fate.
